The true face of Nationalist MP Franco Debono came out in the mobile phone incident that took place during the Bondiplus programme.
I understand that all people in a television studio have to have their mobile devices switched off during the transmission, as otherwise there could be interference in the sound system.
But Dr Debono seems to think that he is above the rest of us, and kept his mobile phone on during the course of the programme. And when presenter Lou Bondi remarked on this kind of behaviour, he had the temerity to say that it was not true.
The phone started to ring, and Dr Debono was seen looking at the device more than once. He also seemed quite pleased that messages were flowing in and calls were being made. But what was written on them, and the people who were calling or sending them, remains unknown.
It is this kind of arrogance that has not gone down well with the man in the street. Franco Debono has many valid arguments, and what he says does make sense in more ways than one. But it is his attitude that lets him down.
His constant bragging about his achievements has now become nauseating, and the mobile phone incident on Bondiplus exposed him for what he is.
