Seminar To discuss Social Media at work

Malta Independent Sunday, 15 January 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Social media, for some, has become a vital tool; to others a phenomenon. Some companies are now embracing it and are using social media tools such as Linked in, Facebook and Twitter to recruit and manage their brand on line. Others are still doubtful and have chosen to keep away.

Careerpassport and Twenty-One Law have joined forces to present a three-hour workshop to examine the use of social media from a recruitment perspective as well as the legal aspects from an employment law viewpoint.

The aim of this workshop is to help and guide employers as well as HR managers on using social media. How should one deal with the issue of one’s employees using social media at work and at home? Can one find an ideal job candidate by using social media? This and more shall be discussed.

The one-hour talks by Josef Said (careerpassport) and Dr Roslyn Borg Knight (Twenty-One Law) are being held on 27 January at Le Meridien Hotel and Spa in St Julian’s.
