Shades Of a totalitarian government

Malta Independent Sunday, 22 January 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Seeing how GonziPN does not want to play the democratic way, and is actually acting more like a totalitarian government on the no-confidence motion, what if Dr Franco Debono writes to the President of the Republic as well as to the Speaker informing them that he no longer forms part of the government majority? Will the President and/or the Speaker be made to intervene and not allow the present government to carry on destabilising the country for purely partisan interests?

I cannot believe that in our Constitution, or the regulations governing parliamentary procedures, such blatant ridicule of a supposedly democratic institution as Parliament, is allowed to go on!
