Local international basketball referee Bernard Vassallo received a further FIBA nomination following five earlier games in France, Spain, Croatia and Italy this season.
In fact, Vassallo will referee the FIBA Euro League Group C match in Croatia today between hosts and reigning Croatian champions Gospic and the Czech outfit Brno.
The FIBA EuroLeague group stage of the competition is at the final stages with two game days remaining and the tussle for a play-off place has intensified.
Gospic, lying in the fifth place of the eight team group are still vying hard to advance further in this top European competition and will aim to repeat their first round showing in the Czech Republic when they emerged 70-62 winners over Brno who are now practically out of the race for a play-off place.
Incidentally, Vassallo was already in Gospic earlier this season when he officiated Gospic vs Rivas Madrid which ended in a 67-52 win for the hosts.
The officiating crew for this encounter to be played at the Gradska Dvorana Arena in Gospic, apart from Vassallo who is the crew chief, will consist of Matej Spendl (Slovenia) and Vladan Sundic (Montenegro).
