Local council elections are fast approaching. They should be held in March exactly on the 10th. Everybody is invited to vote. The voters have to choose the candidate of their choice from a variety of reasons. It is our right to choose the candidate of our main choice, but we should always vote for all candidates, not just for one or two.
These are just local elections, hence the need to elect our candidates to ensure that our locality benefits from their work and experience in making our life more environmentally friendly. This should be the main objective. Every decision by the Local council should ensure that it is environmentally friendly.
Councillors should always bear in mind that they are elected to serve all the community and always within the regulations pertaining to local councils. Local and Europeans funds should be spent with due diligence for the benefit of all the residents. The government should endeavour to help local councils even in their dealings with agencies and corporations belonging to the government. Rules should be established so that replies to queries are forthcoming within a reasonable period of time, say a week or two, but not more. Too much bureaucratic tape should be replaced with immediate action. Someone should be held responsible for inaction and passing the buck should be forbidden. Our energies should be used to better our lives not to fight red tape. The government should encourage our talents, our ideas, and our initiatives. Local councils should have all the necessary resources to effect all the changes that are needed to make the life of all citizens better.
