The Malta Basketball Association President Paul Sultana met Nar Zanolin, FIBA Europe secretary general in Madrid recently on the launch of the FIBA World Cup 2014 in Madrid.
It was a very cordial meeting, during which Zanolin congratulated the newly elected president and augured him all the success in his new task.
Zanolin praised all the initiatives and the work done in the first six months of the new council. He kindly offered his assistance on the ambitious project the MBA is embarking on.
On his part, Sultana said that the MBA will continue in its efforts to increase the popularity of the game in Malta at all levels especially at junior level. He said that the relations between FIBA Europe and the local association are very strong and hoped that they will be strengthened further.
This year FIBA Europe competitions will include Senior Division C championships among others and Zanolin wished the local association more positive results. During the last editions held in Malta, the Women’s team won the gold medal and the Men’s team won the bronze.
