The SportMalta Awards and Ghazliet Nazzjonali Sportivi officially came to an end yesterday morning during a courtesy visit to the President, Dr George Abela, at San Anton Palace.

The runners-up of this year’s contests received their medals from the President during yesterday’s short ceremony.

It was also attended by the chairman of the Organising Committee, Pippo Psaila, the President of the Ghaqda Gurnalisti Sports (Sports Writers Association) and KMS chairman Bernard Vassallo, among others.

The ceremony was held last month. The winners were presented with their trophies on that occasion.

Double Trap shooter William Chetcuti was voted as the Sportsman of the Year in the contest organised annually by the Ghaqda Gurnalisti Sportivi, while triathlonist Danica Bonello Spiteri was voted as the SportMalta Award winner.
