Malta’s national team, above, leaves the country today on its way to Dublin, Ireland, to take part in the European Championship starting tomorrow. They will come to an end on Saturday 25 February.
The Maltese team consists of Antoine Aquilina, Mario Brincat, Marius Gatt, Clint Azzopardi, Maverick Zammit and Johan Attard. It will be under the charge of Adrian Camilleri.
Malta has obtained several good results in these championships in the past. In 2002 and 2008, they won the Men’s seniors’ title.
The officials will be Kenneth Mallia Milanes and Vincent Degiorgio. The latter will also be contesting the election for the position of treasurer of the European federation. He has been occupying that post for the last 14 years.
