Junior Double Trap Maltese shooter, Nathan Lee Xuereb, yesterday won the juniors event at the Italian Shooting Championships at Valle Aniene in Italy.

These were organised by The Italian Shooting Federation (FITAV).

Despite the cold weather, Nathan produced a very good performance, especially in the first round where he managed 47/50. He managed 43/50 in his second round and 44/50 in the third round, for a total score of 134/150. Nathan placed first among all Junior Double Trap shooters.

He also finished fifth verall in the seniors’ event.

His coach Jimmy Bugeja who is accompanying Xuereb in Italy, said that the youngster’s performance was very encouraging for his future, considering his young age.
