St Paul’s Shipwreck Signage rectified

Malta Independent Sunday, 26 February 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

I refer to the letter published in last week’s edition of The Malta Independent on Sunday, entitled St Paul’s Shipwreck: Shame on the Malta Tourism Authority from Mr Mark Gatt of Qawra.

In this regard, I would firstly like to thank Mr Gatt for bringing the error on the sign in question to our attention. The Rome/Jerusalem switch on the board had not been noted or reported to us, otherwise immediate action would have been taken.

I would also like to assure Mr Gatt that the Malta Tourism Authority is fully aware of how important St Paul and the Shipwreck are, both to our nation and our people’s culture and beliefs, as well as to our islands’ tourism potential. A mere cursory glance at any of the MTA’s literature, information sites and other materials, bear ample witness to this fact.

Nonetheless, this week the signage with the error has been removed and replaced with a revised information panel.
