Britain is aiming to follow this year’s London Olympics by hosting the 2018 Youth Olympics in Glasgow.
The British Olympic Association has endorsed a bid from the 2014 Commonwealth Games host city and says it will present it to the International Olympic Committee before its 1 March deadline.
BOA Chairman Colin Moynihan says “the 2018 Youth Olympic Games would present an outstanding and unique opportunity to further expand the legacy of the London 2012 Games.”
Argentine capital Buenos Aires, Medellin in Colombia and Abuja, Nigeria, have also confirmed bids, along with Kaspiysk in Russia and Mexican city Guadalajara.
The IOC will publish a shortlist in January 2013 and announce the host city later that year.
