White Hart 2
Qormi 6
Umpires: Anthony Tabone, Reno Cremona
A game which was settled with Qormi scoring three goals in a four minute burst ten minutes before the final whistle.
After a sprightly start White Hart drew first blood when Karl Tua scored in the 7th minute. Qormi pressed for an equaliser and after winning two penalty corners Keith Calleja scored in the 20th minute, the ball just rolling slowly over the line.
They went ahead in the 26th minute when John Williams netted with a pile driver and just before half time Julian Zahra shot them three one ahead.
White Hart came out fighting in the second half and were rewarded, when in the 38th minute, Mark Zahra netted finishing off a good move.
They exerted further pressure winning three penalty corners to no avail, the game then flowing end to end, with both sides creating entertaining forward play.
Then Qormi scored three goals in between the 60th and 64th minutes through Jonathan Borg, Justin Bonello with John Williams bagging his second.
Until then White Hart were still very much in the game but the three-goal blast took the wind out of their sails.
