The Bank of Valletta winter league continues today with a further three matches.

After the postponement of the past week’s matches due to inclement weather, San Giljan’s victory over Marsascala in midweek enabled the Saints to go top of the standings with two consecutive wins.

Today, the Saints will be inactive and big guns Sliema and Neptunes have the chance to score their second consecutive victory as well and join San Giljan on top.

But Neptunes are firm favourites to beat Exiles, Sliema will be facing St Paul’s Bay side Sirens in what could turn out to be a difficult encounter for the Sliema side.

For Sirens, this will be their first match in the competition, but they have already been in action against the ASA Youths side, winning that (friendly) match convincingly 15-5.

The other match on the programme features Valletta and Marsascala. They will both be looking for their first win or at least, point of the competition.
