Five members of Rotary Club Malta travelled to Sicily to compete in a golf tournament against Rotarians from Sicily. The competition was held over two days at the Verdura Spa Resort on the coast in Sciacca.
The tournament was held on Saturday, 10 March, when it was windy and raining hard, and on Sunday, 11 March, when better weather conditions prevailed.
The competition was won jointly by Frank Salt of Rotary Club Malta and Alberto Giaconia from Rotary Club Catania. Ian de Cesare and Phil Stevenson, also from
Rotary Club Malta, came second overall.
A splendid trophy is now being held by Rotary Club Malta.
The golf tournament will be held next year in Malta and once again the Maltese Rotarians will be competing against the Italian Rotarians for the trophy.
