Double Trap Maltese shooters William Chetcuti (above) and Nathan Lee Xuereb (below) have left Malta for The United States of America.
They will be participating in The ISSF World Cup 2012 in Tucson, Arizona, USA. For this first ISSF World Cup 250 shooters from 43 Nations will be competing in Double Trap, Trap and Skeet events.
William and Nathan are both being assisted by their national coach Jimmy Bugeja. They will be in action next Wednesday all day where they will shoot three rounds of 50 clays each. There will be a barrage finals of another round of 50 clays in the afternoon for the top six shooters.
Their next encounter will be The London Pre-Olympics event in the third week of April, followed by the third Malta International Double Trap Grand Prix 2012 that is being organised by The Malta Shooting Sport Federation on 29 April.
For the Malta event, top world class shooters have already confirmed their participation among them Olympic medallists, Daniele Di Spignio, Francesco D’Aniello, the Italian national squad and Hakan Dahlby from Sweden.
Soon after The Malta Grand Prix, all shooters will be in Italy for the ISSF World Cup in Lonato that is being held in the first week of May. The climax of events will definitely be the London 2012 Olympics where William Chetcuti will be competing in the Double Trap event on 2 August.
