Many come this way and just as many pass away unnoticed. But some, the very few who excel in the finer nuances of human endeavour, remain as a legacy of humanity’s achievement.

A certain emptiness within this little heart of mine is gently tempered by firsthand knowledge of the brilliant mind behind the man.

At times such as this, one could easily let sentiment take over. But this would only mar the brighter, more significant and enduring worth bequeathed to mankind in the passing of this fine intellect.

Malta indeed is proud of you my gentle friend. Your incalculable contribution to your nation and indeed to civilisation at large is an eternal monument to your excellence in elevating our species to ever-greater heights.

Like many others who admired and appreciated the depths of your attainments, I shall miss your company but your profound intellectual legacy shall sustain any void of human frailty.
