A new football club was established recently and recognised by the Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport by the name of Safi FC.

Its main target is to boost the football scene in the village of Hal Safi. A committee has been established to carry out the duties and a statute has been drafted.

Presently Safi FC has already got a female football team training but the club is in the process of establishing a male team to compete in the local competitions organised by the Malta Football Association.

The club is in the process of looking for those players who are ready to join both the female and the male teams. Training will start between the end of May and beginning of June.

If anyone is interested in playing in a national league as from next year, one may contact the club and its committee by sending an email on: [email protected] stating all details, contact numbers and date of birth.

At a later stage, those who submit their details will be contacted by the committee to set up a players’ meeting in the coming days. One can follow the activities of the club on facebook by searching Safi FC on it too.
