GO Plc gains 4.8 per cent

On Friday the Malta Stock Exchange Index gained 0.06 per cent as five equities were negotiated across 26 deals for a total value of €97,949. A total of €1,948,950 was negotiated across 50 deals on the exchange today.

GO plc was the only positive performer of the session as its share price appreciated by 4.8 per cent or 0.039c to €0.839 when three transactions were carried out for a total volume of 2,100 shares.

On the other hand Lombard Bank Malta plc was the only negative performer of the session as its share price dropped by 2.7 per cent or 0.070c to €2.450 on a single deal of 5,000 shares.

Although Bank of Valletta plc was the most active during the session as 33,626 shares were negotiated across 17 deals its share price remained stable at €2.120.

The share prices of FIMBank plc and HSBC Bank Malta plc remained stable.

In the corporate bond market 10 deals were carried out for a total value of €41,090. The 7.15% Mediterranean Investments Holding 2015/17 was the only which experienced a change in price as it gained 0.01 per cent to £100.010 on two deals for a total volume of 15,600.

In the government bond market 14 deals were carried out for a total value of €1,809,909. The 5.2% MGS 2031 was the best performer of the session as its price gained 0.25 per cent to €101.750. The other positive government bonds were the 6.65% MGS 2016 which gained 0.05 per cent on a single deal of 1,659, the 4.25% MGS 2017 III which gained 0.02 per cent to €104.000 on two deals with a total volume of 30,000, the 4.6% MGS 2020 which gained 0.07 per cent to €104.180 on a single deal of 500,000, the 5% MGS 2021 which gained 0.06 per cent to €106.130 on a single deal of 500,000 and the 5.25% MGS 2030 which gained 0.24 per cent to €101.530 on a single deal of 400,000.

On the other hand the 7.8% MGS 2012 lost most ground as it dropped by 0.29 per cent to €100.920 on a single deal of 5,404. The other negative bonds were the 5.7% MGS 2012 III and the 5.9% MGS 2015 II.
