One thing that everyone agreed on was what a gentleman the ex-president, Censu Tabone, was. All the respect shown to him was well deserved. May his family be consoled and may his soul rest in peace. Politicians of such calibre are sorely lacking in the world today.
What riled me was that the cemetery at Xewkija and the environs – a disaster area due to the road works going on – was given a two-day cleanup to make it presentable for the burial. Well and good, but my point is that what about those buried before? Didn’t they deserve the area to be presentable? Are we to assume that even the dead are put into categories by the government or whichever government body was responsible for the clean up?
