The Sinister insensitivity of PN voters

Malta Independent Sunday, 1 April 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

One does not have to be overly perceptive to imagine that if one were a morality mentor of all those adult individuals who voted for and eventually re-elected Julian Galea to the Sliema Local Council on 10 March, one should have cause to be profoundly worried indeed. The insensitivity that bears witness to this case in particular can only be explained in terms of the pathetic mental condition that is the key to the rampant narrow mindedness and bigotry that appears to control the majority of PN supporters in general, who are most of the time led by their noses, allegorically of course, without being aware of it.

Unfortunately, this insensitivity inherent in the minds of many PN followers is not restricted to the Sliema constituents only as one can easily detect the adverse effects that stem from this psyche that is virtually all around us and on a daily basis. The first example that immediately springs to mind is the serious and widespread lack of accountability under past, and present, PN administrations. This adverse effect, hand-in-hand with a tremendous lack of transparency are the principal causes of most of our present financial troubles that, worse still, are seriously affecting the health of the Maltese nation in general, certainly in the short term and probably, I suspect, in the long term too!

And who is to blame for this widespread malaise, if not those poor insensitive PN voters who are seemingly led so easily up the garden path and who are completely oblivious of the great harm they are causing themselves and the rest of the Maltese?
