St Patrick 1

Birzebbuga 3

Birzebbuga eased their relegation worries beating St Patrick 3-1 in a direct clash with all goals scored in the second half.

The first half was very disappointing with very few shots at goal, all coming from dangerous freekicks. The first attempt came from Birzebbuga’s Frantisek, with the St Patrick goalkeeper effecting a brilliant save.

Birzebbuga broke the deadlock after 58 minutes when Keith Muscat passed towards Marev who slotted home from close range. Eight minutes later Marev was brought down inside the penalty area with the referee awarding the penalty and sending off Andreas Farrugia. From the penalty spot Paul Camilleri made no mistake.

Thirteen minutes from time St Patrick pulled one back through Matthew Xerri, but on 84 minutes Birzebbuga sealed the issue with the third goal scored by Keith Muscat
