Neptunes Maintain 100 per cent record with win

As expected, Sliema easily trounced bottom club Marsascala coasting through each of the four sessions with the Southseasiders only scoring after almost two sessions.

The first two sessions saw the Blues rake up a twelve-goal lead largely through the efforts of Lubrano, Privitera and Meli while Marsascala replied through a solitary goal by Scerri.

The third session saw Sliema prevail by five goals to one with Soler again running riot. The final session saw Afric put some of his youngsters into the pool but Sliema still won 5-0 for a final score of 23-3.

As expected Sirens had absolutely no problems to beat a weak Valletta Dhalia side, who offered practically no resistance throughout the entire match.

The first session went 2-0 in favour of Sirens but the second was a 6-2 rout in favour of the St Paul’s Bay club who found the net through Zarb Cousin, Dino Zammit, Attard and Cutajar at regular intervals.

The third session also went Sirens’ way 5-3 with Valletta performing a mini fightback through Galea. The final session saw Sirens win by three goals to one to set up a 16-5 victory and return to winning ways.

In the final match of the day, Neptunes Emirates defeated San Giljan Giuseppe’s in an initially tight encounter which however saw the Balluta boys maintain their 100 per cent record.

The first session ended 2-2; however Neptunes pulled away in the second winning 3-0 with goals coming from Camilleri, Aquilina, Lanzon and Mercieca.

The third session ended 1-1 with Neptunes taking a three goal lead into the final session. San Giljan gave up the ghost in the final session with Neptunes adding to their advantage to win 8-3 without much effort.
