Table-Tennis Nursery Malta Awards

The Table-Tennis Nursery Malta held the annual awards presentation at the Osborne Hotel Valletta recently.

Paul Dawson, Vice President of the Malta Table Tennis Association, before handing out Achievement Certificates to students, addressed players, parents, friends and TTN Malta associates.

The director of TTN Malta, David Pace, also addressed those present. David said that 2011 was a positive year for the organisation and he highlighted a few points for 2012 such as the opening of a new centre at De La Salle College in Cottonera, the introduction of more teams participating in the National League, the setting up of a Facebook group, Euro 100 Donic vouchers reward scheme for Junior National Championships accomplishments by students, together with an internal incentive of 25, 50,100 euro Donic vouchers for Donic Grand Prix tournament 2012.

Pace went on to mention the project for Gozo and the Gozitans. He said that the organisation was moving towards a new centre in Gozo which will shortly be in operation.

Students at TTN Malta have been selected to represent Malta at international events, the latest being TTN Malta student Daniel Said chosen to represent Malta in the next edition of the COJI Games in Sardinia, student Adam Zouari selected for the samei last year, Jessica Pace, who represented Malta at the last edition of the Small Nations Games in Lichtenstein and Luca Balzan, who was selected for an ITTF pro-tour in April.

Pace ended his address by thanking all TTN collaborators, coaches, players, parents and sponsors namely St. Brigids’ Family Centre – Malta Sport Online – Eurosport – Tip Top.

The following awards were claimed:

Achievement on a National Level: Daniel Said, Luca Balzan, Adam Zouari, Christian Degorgio, Sacha Pace, Amy Degaetano, Micheala Scerri, Jessica Pace, Jurgen Sammut, Karl Wismayer, Luke Cassar, Raoul Fenech, David Fenech, Jacob Camilleri and Kurt Butters.

Females Award: Micheala Scerri, Amy Degaetano, Haylie Bartolo, Nicole Galea, Lisa Fenech, Clarissa Friggieri.

Exemplary Adult Student: Paul Simonini.

Parent/Student Easter Doubles: Runners Up Micheala and Edwin Scerri, Winners Matthew and Bernard Cassar.

Parent/Student Christmas Doubles: Runners Up Amy and James Degaetano, Winners David and Anthony Grima.

Donic Grand Prix Beginners: RunnerUp Haylie Bartolo, Winner Nicole Galea.

Emerging: Runner Up Andrea Mulgiett, Winner Luke Cassar.

Advanced and Intermediate: Runner Up David Grima, Winner Daniel Said.
