Recently I had to take a relative to Mater Dei Hospital. I did so with a referral from her general practitioner. Since the case was urgent, she was immediately allowed into the emergency area. Within six hours, all tests were completed and she was given a bed in a ward.
She spent a few days in the hospital, where doctors and nurses, as well as other paramedical staff, gave their utmost to see that this particular patient recovered. She is now at home, in much better shape than when she entered hospital.
I must thank each and every one of the workers for the work they carry out in the hospital. I must not forget the cleaners, who do a great job in keeping the hospital wards and corridors clean.
Too often, we hear bad things about Mater Dei Hospital. It is a great pity, because the services offered there are excellent and of high standards.
