I fully agree with the decision taken by the government to allow shops to open on public holidays. I think this should be the norm, not the exception.
Today, people need these extra hours of opening times to do their shopping at leisure, rather than having to rush to the supermarkets after a day’s work.
I understand that this move might not have been taken well by the employees in such shops, but I am sure that they will also have their days of rest with which to compensate for the hours of work during public holidays.
What I would also like to ask to be taken into consideration is the opening of shops beyond the normal working hours. I am sure that many will appreciate having the chance to do their shopping after 8pm, just to give one example.
