Marsaxlokk were deducted three points by the MFA’s Board of Control and Discipline yesterday.

It was recalled that on 28 February 2012, the Board had decided that unless payments due to coach Patrick Curmi and players Peter Pullicino and Glenn Zammit were not effected by 4 April 2012, a point for each payment would be deducted.

Marsaxlokk did not honour their commitment by the stipulated date and therefore the Board’s decision became inevitable.

The southern seasiders now have six points only and are therefore even closer to relegation.
