A great comeback at the start of yesterday’s second session was not enough for Tony Drago to avoid elimination from the World Championship qualifier.

Justin Astley led 7-2 after the first session on Monday and seemed to have a very good cushion to cruise comfortably into the third round.

But Drago thought otherwise. He had a storming start to the second session yesterday as he won the opening four frames to crawl back to 6-7 and therefore well in contention.

But Astley responded late in the session to go on and win 10-7.

In the next round, Astley will now meet Liang Wenbo of China.
