The overall winner of The Cassar Cup Trap Selection organised by The Malta Shooting Sport Federation was George Cassar.

This competition was on 125 clays trap, with the best six to qualify for a barrage final of another 25.

Cassar placed first with 125 hits, followed by Lino Borg on 121, Nicky Carabott 117, Frank Scorfna 115, Jason J. Aquilina 114 and Alvin Vella 113.

Class A 1st Lino Borg 45/50, 2nd Stephen Vella 41/50, 3rd Alvin Vella 40/50.

Meanwhile, Maltese Double Trap shooters William Chetcuti and Nathan lee Xuereb, together with their coach Jimmy Bugeja and Trap shooters Dr James Galea, Stephen Vella and Frankie Scorfna, are in London to take part in the Pre-Olympics ISSF World Cup 2012.

MSSF President, Saviour Portelli attended the International Shooting Sport Federation General Assembly meeting held in London yesterday.

The ISSF General Assembly was held at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in London, on Tuesday.

The Assembly, which takes place every two years, was organised in London on the occasion of the “London Prepares” ISSF pre-Olympic World Cup to be held at the RAB Olympic Venue till 29 April.

Two-hundred delegates coming from about 100 countries joined the meeting, receiving reports from the organisers of future events, and deciding the host cities of the 2015 and 2018 world championship.

The Olympic Shooting Range is being tested in these days: tomorrow will indeed officially kick off the “London Prepares” ISSF World Cup test event, which will award 15 medals.
