Maltese wrestlers registered an impressive result in the Welsh Open in Cardiff.

In all, the Maltese national team under the guidance of national coach Jesmond Giordimaina won no less than 14 bouts while losing only five and winning four out of the six weight categories.

The four weight categories were won by Gary Giordimaina (47kg), Adam Vella (60kg), Abraham Vassallo (84kg) and Aidan Buhagiar (96kg)

On the other hand George Vassallo and Andrea Saliba won silver medals. The contingent also included David Zammit and official Kenneth Vella.
