Two meetings are scheduled for this weekend, the first today starting at 7pm (nine races) and the other on Sunday at 2pm (11 races).

Today’s meeting features an international female drivers encounter, with nine foreign drivers from six different countries, together with Maltese representative Laura Cunningham, all driving Silver class horses. A balanced race is anticipated at which all drivers will parade their undoubted talents in front of a Maltese audience.

Most of the other races involve semi-finals from the Skyparks championships for Swedish trotters, with Copper and Bronze class trotters being in action on a 2,140m distance.

Even in Sunday’s meeting, the main attraction consists of more semi-finals from the Skyparks championships, this time featuring the senior classes.

The two Premier class races are undoubtedly worthy of a final, with the participation of many popular horses such as multiple championship winner Livi Cantona, Think Yatzee winner of the first three editions of this championship, Fire, Arnie Sensation, True Q and many others.

The semi-finals in the other classes are equally balanced. The Gold class ones for instance include horses coming from good wins or places, such as She’s Dreamlike, Lime Casted and others.

A number of newcomers will also debut in these meetings.

Only five horses qualify from each semi-final and strong competition is assured in all races.

The participation of some of Malta’s best horses and both local and foreign drivers should ensure a great weekend of racing at Marsa.
