On Thursday the Malta Stock Exchange Index gained 0.1 per cent and closed at 2,967.205 points as five equities were negotiated across 16 deals for a total value of €15,740.
6pm Holdings Plc was the best performer of the day as its price gained 2.9 per cent and closed at £0.350 on a single deal of 4,300 shares.
The share price of Simonds Farsons Cisk plc gained 2.8 per cent and closed at €1.820 as 3,698 shares were negotiated across four deals.
Meanwhile Bank of Valletta plc gained 0.4 per cent to €2.110 as 2,000 shares were negotiated across four deals.
Middlesea Insurance plc was the only negative performer of the day and its price dropped by 1.4 per cent and closed at €0.690 on two deals with a total volume of just 506 shares.
The share price of GO plc remained stable at €0.750.
In the corporate bond market eight bonds were negotiated across eight deals for a total value of €59,635. The 7.15% Melita Capital 2014/16 was the only positive performer as its price appreciated by 0.01 per cent and closed at €102.760 on a single deal with a volume of 10,000. The 4.25% FIMBank 2013 and the 4.8% Bank of Valletta 2018 were the only negative performers and dropped by 0.2 per cent respectively.
In the government bond market 14 bonds were negotiated across 32 deals for a total value of €428,709. The 6.6% MGS 2019 was the best performer as its price gained 0.3 per cent and closed at €117.990 on a single deal of 6,989. The other positive bonds were the 3.6% MGS 2013 IV, the 6.45% MGS 2014 II, the 5.1% MGS 2014 III, the 5.9% MGS 2015 II, the 6.65% MGS 2016, the 4.3% MGS 2016 IV, the 5% MGS 2021 and the 5.1% MGS 2022.
Meanwhile the 4.25% MGS 2017 III lost most ground as its price dropped by 0.5 per cent and closed at €104.660 on a single deal of 12,000. The other negative bonds were the 5.7% MGS 2012 III, the 7.8% MGS 2013, the 4.6% MGS 2020 and the 5.2% MGS 2031.
