Nathan Lee Xuereb Wins the 3rd Malta International Double Trap Grand Prix

Fifteen year old Nathan Lee Xuereb wrote a new page in the history of shooting sport when he made it to the top place of the podium yesterday in front of hundreds of supporters that gathered at The MSSF shooting ranges for the 3rd Malta International Double Trap Grand Prix 2012.

Nathan showed he would be one of the favourites from the first round where he managed 47/50. He went on to hit 49/50 in his second and 48/50 in the third round for a total of 144/150. In the spectacular barrage final that was very tight to determine the winner, Nathan left everybody speechless when he managed a perfect straight of 50/50 for a total of 194/200.

Daniele Di Spignio placed second, only one clay behind Nathan with 193 (144+49). Hakan Dahlby was third with 190 (143+47) followed by Barilla Antonio with 189 (140 +49), William Chetcuti also with 189 (144+45) and Marco Innocenti closed in sixth with 183 (139+44).

In category B Vescovi Andrea won with 176 (132+44) followed by Belei Lorenzo with 171 (123+48), Lattanzi Simone with 166 (126+40), Belli Alessandro with 165 (124 +41), Xuereb Johan with 150 (113+37) and De Carlonis Dardo with 133 (102+31).

This year’s event was supported by MSV Life, Bank of Valletta, KMS, ONE TV, Blueline, My WYN, Bulova and Heritage Homes of Malta.

Top world shooters from Malta, Italy, Sweden, Finland and Wales taking part in this Grand Prix had very positive comments for the organisation of this event. Also the good turnout of spectators was very encouraging.
