The convoy of racing cars competing in the hill climbs and sprint championship of the Island Car Club (ICC) moves to Gozo this weekend for the fourth round of the club’s competition which is being held on Sunday at Xagħra.
Alan Curmi was the winner last year with a time of 49.32 seconds, and on present form, he could well lower that mark. But it won’t be easy.
Reigning champion and winner of Mtahleb, Hubert Camilleri, is always a threat with his outstanding Mclaren Garage Chevron B43 as is Zach Zammit who already won two of the 2012 hill climbs in his ever-improving Urban Jungle Ralt.
The championship is wide open and spectators are sure to witness competitive driving up Gozo’s most popular hill.
The event starts at 9am with the first of two practice runs. These will be followed by the two timed runs.
