The Malta Tennis Federation (MTF) has announced that as part of its Tennis 10s programme, a record 64 kids will be participating in the first Tennis 10s festival to be held at the Marsa Sports Club next Tuesday between 9am and 4pm.
The festival will bring tennis players from 10 different tennis Clubs/Schools to enjoy a day long tennis festival in a fun but competitive environment. The format of the Festival will follow the internationally acclaimed format of Green and Orange festival, allowing kids of different abilities to use the appropriate equipment and court sizes to play the game.
The coordinator of the Tennis 10’sprogramme, Claire Arrigo, was very happy with the response that affiliated clubs and tennis schools on the island have shown for the festival. She said: “We are very pleased that 10 clubs have chosen to participate in this Festival that will see players between the ages of six and 12 play in this festival. The main aim of the Tennis 10s programme is to get more kids interested in the game and Festivals such as these are a great way for new kids to get interested.”
The Malta Tennis 10s thanked its official partner, GasanMamo, for its support and Eurosport, the official sponsor of the first festival. It also thanked Melitaplc as the pay-TV operator will be filming the event and creating a dedicated production that will feature on its local sports dedicated channel Malta Stars.
