Recycling

Malta Independent Thursday, 10 May 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

While readily admitting I am a recent convert to the merits of recycling, I have, however, found myself somewhat mystified that this is not a cause that is more overtly promoted. Given the limited resources and space available in the Maltese Islands, recycling should really be a priority. Yet I find myself in the minority amongst my friends when I ask who recycles their household waste.

Given that the time and effort it takes to recycle is negligible, I feel that every resident in Malta has a duty not to be wasteful and to help protect our environment, and ultimately through this, our livelihood. Tourists will stop coming the day Malta becomes a polluted cess pit. We can stop this from happening so I would ask everyone to do their bit. Recycle your waste.
