Champions Valletta and league runners-up Hibernians avoided each other when the draws for the semifinals of the U*BET FA Trophy were made yesterday afternoon.

The champions were drawn to face Qormi while Hibernians will be meeting Hamrun Spartans in the other semifinal.

Qormi reached the semifinals after having registered wins against Gzira United, Mellieha and Pieta Hotspurs, the latter in a match which went into extra time. Valletta beat St Patrick, Sliema Wanderers and Mosta.

Hibernians defeated Pembroke, Rabat Ajax and Floriana while Hamrun Spartans eliminated Dingli Swallows, Birkirkara and St George’s.

The two matches are to be played next weekend, as follows:

Sunday 20 May: 6pm Qormi-Valletta

Monday 21 May: 7.30pm Hibernians-Hamrun S.

The final is scheduled to be played on 27 May.

All the three matches are to be played at the National Stadium, Ta’ Qali.
