Alex Borg, above, maintained his status as Malta national champion on Friday night following a 7-4 victory in the final over Duncan Bezzina of La Vincitrice Band Club, Senglea.

The final, at De Rohan Band Club, Zebbug, was played in front of a sizeable crowd and under the control of referee Gaetano Camilleri. This is the 11th national title for Borg who plays for Juventutis Domus of Zejtun.

After the final, MBSA President Joe Caruana Curran presented the trophy to Alex Borg.
