Mark Deguara’s double for Mgarr United scored very early were detrimental to Qrendi’s performance during the game as they seemed to have been discouraged with the game being completely dominated by Mgarr.

Mgarr took the lead on the third minute when Mark Deguara beat Qrendi’s goalkeeper Gerald Micallef with a nice angled shot. Only four minutes later, Mark Deguara doubled with a low central shot fired from close range.

United’s easy third goal came on the 48th when Albert Aquilina shot past Qrendi’s defence and goalkeeper Micallef. Five minutes later, Mgarr were granted a penalty due to a foal committed within the penalty area. Jeffrey Gauci did not miss from the spotkick.

On the 60th minute, Mgarr’s Merlin Mifsud made them five when he placed the ball at the back of the net with an angled shot.

Melchio Psaila increased the gap further more on the 72nd minute with a rising shot blasted from the edge of the penalty area.

Sandro Galea gave Qrendi their consolation goal on the 83rd minute when he shot past the United’s goalkeeper Gianluca Felice.

Even though Mgarr were not promoted to the Second Division, they ended this season in third place with 55 points on the table whereas Qrendi are placed 12th with only 18 points.

Carlo Leonardi’s and Lydon Cilia’s hat-tricks, as well as prominent player Daniel Calleja Cremona, were all fundamental for Pembroke in their last match against Marsascala from which they came out easy winners.

Pembroke continuously pressurised their opponents and never allowed Marsascala be of any threat to them.

Pembroke took the lead on the first minute when Daniel Calleja Cremona crossed towards Lydon Cilia who concluded an angled shot from the edge of the penalty area.

An interesting action took place on the 19th minute when once again, Daniel Calleja Cremona’s cross found Carlo Leonardi who blasted home an amazing central shot.

On the 26th, Pembroke’s Lydon Cilia surprised their adverseries when he took off from the centre of the ground, dribled past a Marsascala defender and their goalkeeper, who had left his position, and fired home from a notable distance.

Pembroke made them four on the 38th minute when Lydon Cilia passed over to Carlo Leonardi who scored with a low shot.

Lydon Cilia obtained his hat-trick four minutes later in an interesting action in which he beat three Marsascala defenders and the goalkeeper with a central shot.

Marsascala’s Nazzareno Abela’s incorrect back pass on the 67th minute found Carlo Leonardi who beat subsitute goalkeeper Clinton Camilleri.

Marsascala scored their only goal on the 78th when captain Nikola Stoychev Slavchev beat Pembroke’s substitute goalkeeper Michael Carter from a direct free kick.

Pembroke where declared champions of the BOV Third Division League this season finishing with 63 points.

Ghaxaq and Xghajra Tornados shared the spoils in their final match for this season which ended in a 2-2 draw. The match was balanced with both teams creating several scoring opportunites.

On the 5th minute, Milan Polonec’s free kick for Xghajra was saved by goalkeeper Jensen Chetcuti and from the rebound Ali Manaf attempted to score; however his shot was once again cleared by Chetcuti. During the first half of the match, both goalkeepers saved all attempts made in their direction. On the 48th Ghaxaq’s Laonard Alla beat goalkeeper Peter Paul Camilleri with an angled shot given from the edge of the penalty area. Xghajra lost a good chance when Milan Polonec’s shot was saved by goalkeeper Chetcuti.

However they did not miss on the 72nd minute when they were granted a penalty successfully scored by Milan Polonec.

Two interesting actions came late in the match when Martin Nosko shot home Xghajra’s second goal on the 88th minute and the Tornados, who were not ready to suffer a loss, replied on the 90th as Leonard Alla shot past goalkeeper Camilleri to strike again.

Following this result, Ghaxaq ended in fifth place with 48 points on the table and Xghajra Tornados seventh with 41 points.
