GO Plc gains 8.9%

On Friday the Malta Stock Exchange Index gained 0.2 per cent and closed at the 2,971.832 level as five equities were negotiated across 26 transactions for a total value of €75,952. Three equities were positive while one was negative and one was stable.

GO plc was the best performer of the day as its share price gained 8.9 per cent and closed at €0.850 when 10 transactions were carried out as 21,950 shares changed hands.

The share price of Lombard Bank Malta plc gained 2.1 per cent and closed at €2.349 on two deals with a total volume of just 140 shares.

A single deal of 500 shares led to a rise of 1.1 per cent in the share price of Malta International Airport plc which closed at €1.750.

In the corporate bond market seven bonds were negotiated across 19 deals for a total value of €585,984. Three were positive, three were negative and one remained stable. The 5.6% GlobalCapital 2014/16 was the best performer as its price gained 0.3 per cent and closed at €82.750 on two deals with a total volume of 6,800. The other positive performers were the 6% Gasan Finance 2014/16 and the 7% Pavi Shopping Complex 2014/17. On the other hand the 4.25% FIMBank 2013 lost most ground as its price dropped by 0.9 per cent and closed at $100.000 on a single deal with a volume of 5,000. The other negative bonds were the 6.25% Mediterranean Bank 2015 and the 7% MIDI 2016/18.

In the government bond market five bonds were negotiated across 13 deals for a total value of €430,023. The 5.25% MGS 2030 was the best performer as its price gained 0.1 per cent and closed at €103.120 on three deals with a total volume of 9,000. The other positive bonds were the 7.8% MGS 2018 and the 4.3% MGS 2022 II – Retail. The 5.2% MGS 2031 lost most ground as its price dropped by 0.1 per cent and closed at €102.350 on two deals with a total volume of 35,000. The other negative bond was the 4.25% MGS 2017 III.
