Football - Johann Said Not to re-contest for Floriana FC Presidency

Floriana FC President Johann Said is not going to re-contest for Presidency of the glorious local club. This was announced in a statement signed by Floriana FC Secretary Matthew Carbone and issued yesterday.

In the same statement it was also announced that the vast majority of the present committee members will not seek re-election in the committee for the coming season.

The statement said that the decision taken by Johann Said and the majority of the present committee members is final.

The statement said that the Predient and the committee could not function further due to the constant attacks from persons close to the club.

Under the Presidency of Johann Said Floriana managed to win the FA trophy with a last gasp goal against Valletta last season, taking the FA Trophy back to the Floriana showcase after a 17-year absence.

The President and the committee members will continue to carry out their duties till the Floriana FC Annual General Meeting which is scheduled for 10 June.
