With the football season just over, Malta’s national team today will play away to Luxembourg in a friendly match
This will be the first test for Pietro Ghedin since he took over as Malta’s new national coach hardly four weeks ago.
Ghedin is optimistic about a good result and expressed his satisfactiond with the work done by his players so far.
For today’s match, Ghedin wants all the players to give a convincing performance and expects them to give their all during the entire 90 minutes. Then anything can happen.
The biggest surprise pick in Pietro Ghedin’s selection for today’s match, was Valletta’s loaned player Cleaven Frendo, who did not command a regular place with Sliema Wanderers and who returns to national duty after a two-year absence.
Ghedin will select his line-up from the following players:
Goalkeepers - Andrew Hogg (Valletta), Justin Haber (Kerkyra)
Defenders - Andrei Agius (Latina), Steve Borg (Valletta), Jonathan Caruana (Valletta), Alex Muscat (Sliema), Joseph Zerafa (B’Kara)
Midfielders - Rodrick Briffa (Valletta), Clayton Failla (Hibernians), Edmond Agius (Valletta), Paul Fenech (B’kara), Gareth Sciberras (B’Kara), Dyson Falzon (Valletta)
