Football: MIA Team suffers only one defeat

The Malta Airport football team suffered just one of the eight matches it played in winning the 15th edition of the European Airports’ Football Championship which was held in Malta over the last weekend.

In the final, the Maltese team registered a 2-0 victory against the team from Moscow Sheremtyevo Airport.

Markus Klaushofer, CEO at Malta Airport, expressed his pleasure at the team after an impressive run in the competition and successfully winning the championship. “This is a great achievement for a small airport like ours and I would like to thank all the players and coach for their dedication and commitment,” added the CEO.

The team was under the guidance of coach Simon Sultana, who said that after various attempts at winning this championship, the team finally managed to achieve victory. “It was not an easy task, but it was due to all our players for making it all happen. The record of eight games with just one goal against shows the great performance of the team,” he concluded.
