On Friday the Malta Stock Exchange Index gained 0.08 per cent and closed at 3,045.103 points as five equities were negotiated across 39 trades for a total value of €289,736 in the equity market.
GO plc gained most ground as its share price appreciated by 2.1% and closed at €0.970 when 76,800 shares changed hands across nine deals.
The share price of HSBC Bank Malta plc was also positive as it gained 0.8% and closed at €2.52 on three deals with a total volume of 3,315 shares.
Malta International Airport plc saw its share price appreciate by 0.5% and closed at €1.740 as two deals were carried out for a total volume of 11,000 shares.
Meanwhile a single deal of just 900 shares led to a drop of 1.1% in the share price of FIMBank plc which closed at $0.840.
Bank of Valletta plc was the other negative equity of the session as its share price dropped by 0.9% and closed at €2.060 when 91,126 shares changed hands across 24 transactions.
In the corporate bond market seven bonds were negotiated for a total value of €157,377. The 6.7% AX Investments 2014/16 was the only positive performer as its price gained 0.4 per cent and closed at €103.500 on a single deal of 3,262.
The 7.5% Mediterranean Investments Holding 2012/14 lost most ground as its price dropped by 0.5 per cent and closed at €100.000 on a single deal of 500. The other negative corporate bonds of the session were the 6.2% Mizzi Organisation Finance 2016/19 and the 4.8% Bank of Valletta 2020.
In the government bond market, 13 bonds were negotiated with two gaining ground and 11 loosing territory. The 4.3% MGS 2022 II was the best performer of the session as its price appreciated by 0.1% and closed at €101.200 on four deals with a total volume of 150,000. On the other hand the 5.2% MGS 2031 was the worst performer of the session as its price dropped by 0.6% and closed at €101.300 on two deals with a total volume of 50,000.
