Malta’s Alex Borg is heading the list of players with the top breaks of the tournament.

His 133 in the third frame on the first day of the European Championship in Latvia still stands as the top break in the event so far.

Borg has now won three of his Group C matches and lost only once – to Germany’s Sascha Lippe 4-2.

In the other matches, he registered three impressive and comfortable 4-0 wins which see him leader of the Group (he is expected to win the Group when the others still in contention play their final matches today).

The top four of the five players in each group qualify for the Last 64 stage of the tournament. Borg has already qualified but has to wait to know whether he has also won the group.

Apart from that top break of 133, Borg has also registered good breaks of 99, 95, 83, 74, 60, 58 and 53 during the four games he has played.
