After a quiet start to the game Hotsticks won three penalty corners in succession between the 5th and 7th minutes and as a result of the third one Ludolf Pasterhoff netted to put them into the lead.  

This stung Qormi into action but it was not until the 15th minute when a neat move freed Jonathan Borg who equalized with a crisp volley from the top of the D. 

Both teams created a clear goal-scoring chance each but the score remained unchanged when the half time whistle blew.

The game ebbed and flowed with the teams winning two penalty corners each by the 43rd minute with Qormi going close on one occasion.    

The deadlock was broken in the 56th minute when after a penalty corner action Keith Calleja’s effort was deflected into goal by a Hotsticks defender to give Qormi a 2 – 1 lead. 

Hotsticks tried hard to get back into the game but Qormi played out time to crown their season by winning their third title albeit detracting no merit from Hotsticks’ spirited performances in both the Super Cup and the Knock Out final.
