The MBA recently confirmed the various coaching grades proposed by the Coaching Commission composed of Tony Camilleri, Sandro Farrugia, Kristin Baldacchino and Christoph Stolp:

These are:

A Licence: Seniors (including U23), B Licence: Youths (U16s to U19s) and C Licence: Mini Basket & Juniors (including U14s)

In line with its policy to continue to upgrade the coaching skills at the various levels, the MBA has announced the dates of the following coaching clinics:

For Seniors, U-23 and U-16 coaches (all coaches and interested persons are invited to attend) which will be held at Ta’ Qali.

The clinics will be conducted by national coaches Paolo Di Fonzo (DF) and Santino Coppa (SC) as follows:

Saturday 16 June: 4.30pm to 5.30pm and between 6pm and 7.30pm.

Sunday 17 June: 9am-10.30am and 11am to 12.30pm.

Saturday 23 June: 4.30pm to 5.30pm and from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Sunday 24 June: 9am to 10.30am and 11am to 12.30pm.

The cost of the course is €130 (students and U-18s €50) and includes the licence fee of €40 for season 2012/2013. The licence fee in 2012/2013 for those who do not attend will be €225.

Between 17 and 23 September, a clinic for mini-basket coaches conducted by Prof Maurizio Mondoni will be held. The course will be of interest to all but especially mini and U-14 coaches as well as prospective and qualified PE teachers who organise basketball sessions at their school.
