Group A
San Giljan Giuseppe’s 6
Exiles Ferretti 9
(2-2, 1-2, 0-4, 3-1)
Exiles assured themselves of a place in the top division, with a well-earned victory over the Saints, who seemed a subdued lot for most of the match. The third session was a disastrous one for San Giljan, when they conceded four goals without any reply. Exiles could then administer the rest of the game, although they had to face a Saints’ comeback, which still fell short. San Giljan had coach, Karl Izzo, abroad, with his place taken by Bogdan Rath, now with the Saints, though not in the water. Exiles were a confident lot, with Marthon Toth grabbing a poker of goals.

(0-1, 0-5, 3-5, 1-6)
Sliema strolled through this match, with over confidence limiting them to just a single goal in the opening session. From then on the Blues began to pour in their goals, with John Soler netting a nap hand, and Ferenc Salamon scvoring a hat trick, before he was fouled out. Sliema also had a healthy man up tally, with six goals from nine occasions. Otters had to rely on their Hungarian, Zoltan Radocz, who beat Sliema’s Gergely four times, but also missed a penalty throw, hitting the bar. This win also ensures a 1st. Division place to Sliema, with their second win in as many matches.

M’scala had the better of a Valletta side who made a faulty start, as they conceded five times, without any reply on their part. In the other three sessions the Citizens were on a par with their opponents, but M’scala always had a good lead to fall back on, with Samoan, Joseph Kayes scoring a double hat trick, and Hungarian, Judashz Szolt pitching in with three more.Their player, Ranier Scerri, was ejected from the match in the last session. Valletta had Timothy Agius with four goals to his credit, but their failure from man up situations, scoring three times from a total of ten, did not help their cause, especially as they had to do without Hungarian, Robert Kovacs, for the second time.
