Nail On the head

Daphne Caruana Galizia hit the proverbial nail on the head: The action taken in parliament by the Opposition to bring down a public servant and ambassador (on grounds best described as laughable) was unconscionable. What is worse, it was supported by renegades (I use the term advisedly) on the government benches. That is what will be remembered. The implications for the future are as Daphne Caruana Galizia has described: Parliament may basically impeach any public servant who treads on enough political toes – contrary to what the Constitution provides and certainly contrary to all precedent and practice. This was a sad day for Malta and we are all the losers.
