The 10th edition of the Birkirkara St. Joseph 5K Road Running Series will start tomorrow, at 7.30pm on the Mtarfa By-pass.
This series, organised under the auspices of the Malta Amateur Athletic Association, is this year being sponsored by the Cyclist of San Gwann.
For the first time this year, there will be three races in the series, following the club’s decision to organise a 10-kilometre race on 13 December. The other two races of the series will be held on 24 July and 21 August both starting at 7pm on the Mtarfa By-pass.
The winners of the series will be those athletes with the best accumulated time in the three races, in the males and females categories.
Aaron Mifsud and Carmen Hili were the winners in their respective categories in the 2011 series. Last year the series attracted 164 athletes.
The Mtarfa By-pass will be closed for traffic during the event.
Entry forms and regulations may be downloaded from the club’s website www.bkarastjoseph.com
