Table Tennis: Table Tennis Academy Malta students to train in Sweden

Three of the TTAM’s advanced five-star players have been presented with the most wonderful opportunity as they gear up to travel to Sweden for a training camp and a four week training experience to improve their skills in the sport.

Andrew Gambina, Andrea Portelli and James Camilleri will be heading off on the 29th July 2012 will be forming part of the TTEX Table Tennis Expert training camp. The camp will be held in Asa on the Swedish west coast and the students will also be participating in various competitions. They will have the opportunity to train with some of the best Swedish youth players and with a number of International sparring partners. The students will have to endure training for six hours a day.

The head coach at the camp is Swedish coach Peter Nilsson a close associate of Malta Champion Mario Genovese and the Table Tennis Academy Malta.

Various coaches will be assisting him amongst whom one finds Mikael Talinsson, He Ping from China, Ruh Shi Ping from China and other swedish top coaches.

This will be a training camp where the students will have to work hard with the objective to improve and is far from being a fun camp. It will definetely be an extraordinary experience for these top upcoming players and it surely won’t be the last.

The Academy is presently accepting applications for its annual summer programme which starts in three weeks time. There will be various foreign coaches coming to the Academy this Summer and the levels are various starting out from the beginners level and stretching up to the advanced sections.
